1. All players must be at least 13 years old to participate, and those under 19 years old must have the permission and implied supervision of a parent or legal guardian during the period of their participation for their own safety.
2. Players may not lie about their age or otherwise misrepresent themselves (for example: creating multiple accounts with different email aliases) when applying to participate, or participating outside of the roleplaying sections of the forum.
3. Players are not to share personal information online which would allow other players (completely anonymous strangers who may be lying deatheaters!!!) to identify who they are (for example: no full names or actual photos/selfies!) or how to find them in the real world (for example: no home addresses or street names, no phone numbers, no email addresses, no social media account information or handles, no current locations and no local affiliations are to be shared!)
4. All players are to behave in manner respectful of the rights and dignity of themselves and others and according to the current posted rules. In cases where player behavior is judged to be in question and/or reported as disrespectful or in violation of the current posted rules by other players, the admin and moderators reserve the right to immediately warn, suspend, and/or remove offending players' posts and playing privileges without expectation of a right to appeal, further argument, or further access to any censored posts for editing. Staff will use their own best judgement and sense of literary and human fairness when judging reported offenses.
5. All players must read and confirm that they have understood the rules by replying to this thread before their character applications for sorting and roleplaying posting privileges will be granted. You may copy and paste the following statement in your response: "I confirm that I have read and agree to the rules and regulations for this forum, and recognize that I can be warned, lose posts or posting privileges, or be banned from this forum by the admins or moderators at any time without appeal if I am suspected of breaking these (or future, more complete versions of the forum) rules. I understand that this is a not-for-profit forum created by amateur enthusiasts who volunteer their time for its continued maintenance and upkeep. While efforts will be made to ensure member and content safety by staff, I understand and I fully accept any and all risks associated with using this forum."
6. All writing is to be PG-13 rating appropriate. Namely, swear words have to be used sparingly (if at all), and, in the event of the specific obscenity we politely call the F-word, not used in a sexual context. Secondly, any portrayed nudity has to be non-sexual. Finally, though violence is permitted, it must be (predominantly) bloodless. In other words, player writing is consistent with the levels of invoked fear, violence and sensuality/sexuality in the Harry Potter movies produced by Hollywood. The use of the "Fade to black" convention may be called upon when in doubt.
