When does this story take place?

All events in this story take place in and around Hogwarts in the year 2020 (though not necessarily today's date if it is still 2020 when you are posting). All player characters are likely aware of what transpired when the original characters from the books were at Hogwarts, but none of those characters still attend or work at Hogwarts. All of the same "rules" and conventions that applied to the use of muggle technology and magic at Hogwarts are still in force (with some minor accommodations with the advance of time).
